Praise to be Allah, the Cherisher and the Sustainer of the worlds and of the whole creation, and peace and blessing be on Muhammad, the Final Messenger of Allah, and on his progeny and all Companions.
The fact that the rise and fall of a nation hinges upon younger generation cannot be questioned. The fate of nation is irretrievably linked with a proper upbringing and reorientation of its emerging generations. This is a principle which quite common in its application. Another fact, which is even more important and needs to be refreshed in mind is that the Divine Word the holy Quran and its authentic interpretation furnished by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself and his companions who not just benefited directly from the main spring of the holy Prophet, but they bequeathed this invaluable legacy to the succeeding generation as well.
It is unfortunate for Muslim Ummah that with the decline of its political and milltary grip on the world many great ordeals surfaced their ugly heads and threatened its very being. The most threating thing, however, was that the un-Islamic philosophies and pagan ideologies began to attract the attention of Muslim youths, the future of Muslims. The flag-bearers of Disbelief: Jews, Christians and Polytheists, concentrated all their efforts to detract the Muslim youth from main stream of Islam. The Muslim youth, the backbone of Ummah, has now become their special target. The current of ever-growing irreligiosity and antipathy towards Islam an its scheme of life is of course the direct result of such destructive efforts. This growing tide of evil in the Muslim youth requires immediate check lest it might take over the whole community.
It is gratifying to note that there have always been movements which, side by side the destructive ones have been working for the Ummat-e-Muslima. The role of such movements must thankfully be acknowledged and preserved in the pages of the Islamic history.
One of these movements, the Jamiat-u-Shabab-il-islam Lucknow, needs special mention as it came into existence in 1974. The credit of which goes to Maulana Syed Salman Husaini Nadwi whose deep thinking and vision translated into reality. To acquaint Muslims in general its introductory sketch is given below.
